This summit is open to all Safeguarding Leads across the Partnership. It offers a valuable opportunity for you to engage and contribute to the work of the OSCP.
The agenda for the event is as follows:
- Welcome, introductions and update on the MASA implementation: Martin Reeves, Oxfordshire County Council Chief Executive and Lead Safeguarding Partner for the Local Authority
- An oveview of OSCP Annual Report 24-25, and Strategic Plan: Lisa Lyons, Director of Children's Services, Delegated Safeguarding Partner and Chair for the Partnership
- An introduction to the Independent Scrutineer role and plan: Ian Sutherland, OSCP Independent Scrutineer
- Learning from recent safeguarding reviews: Jean Kelly, Deputy Director for Children's Social Care and Chair of the Child Safeguarding Practice Review Subgroup
- The Family Safeguarding Approach in Oxfordshire: Senay Nidai, Assistant Director Safeguarding and Delia Mann, Assistant Director Early Help
- Priority work on harm outside the home: Chloe Purcell, Director of SAFE! Support for Young People Affected by Crime and Chief Inspector Wojciech Spyt, Thames Valley Police
- Closing comments: Chief Constable Jason Hogg, Thames Valley Police
There will also be the opprotunity for questions and round table discussions.
The summit aims to:
- Enhance the effectiveness and communication of partnership working with children, young people, and families in Oxfordshire
- Allow agencies to provide feedback on how their roles feature in the multi-agency safeguarding arrangements
- Offer strategic leads and senior managers across the partnership the chance to network, share ideas, and discuss approaches with peers from different organisations
